I photographed this Northern Hawk Owl in-flight last winter and met a few new friends while at it, in fact, they pointed me in the right direction of this northern hawk owl. Here is a sequence of photos of the owl hunting and capturing his dinner, in this case a mouse! I figured I should post the events, hope you like!

Hawk Owl Coming In For The Kill
The Pounce
Photo number three below in the hawk owl sequence shows the owl stopping in mid air, hovering just before pouncing on his prey.
Making the Grab
The owl smashes through the snow, mouse has been caught!
Prey In Hand
The hawk owl made the catch, the below photograph shows the prey firmly in the owls talons.
Lift Off
The owl is seen here taking flight with its dinner, the mouse!
