These Alberta Badlands photographs are taken just outside the town of Drumheller and are from an earlier excursion to the ghost town of Dorothy located in Alberta’s Badlands. A desolate landscape, the Alberta Badlands are a photographers dream come true! From the old coal mines and rugged lonely hills, the Badlands are as impressive as the Rocky Mountains and a must see location if you are ever in the area.

These photos are from an earlier trip to the Alberta Badlands town of Dorothy posted here.
The drive into the Badlands is amazing, the landscape is millions of years old, and you can tell.
Passing grazing horses and cows along the way.
Rustic old homesteads can be seen in the Alberta Badlands with lots of texture and great backgrounds.
We also visited the Atlas Coal Mine, built in the late 1800’s the Atlas Coal Mine is a sight to see, and photograph! Will post more of this coal mine soon!
