The Swainson’s Hawk (Buteo swainsoni) is about the size of the red-tailed hawk and this wild male bird photographed here is a light morph or light phase. In September, these birds of prey migrate all the way down to Argentina, after wintering in Argentina they head back to southern Albert in the spring, as this is the breeding range of the The Swainson’s Hawk.
