I photographed this wild great horned owl was photographed in flight just southwest of Calgary, Alberta, Canada using the Nikon 300mm f/2.8 VR lens and the Nikkor 1.4 TC (tele-converter).

It was a great day, myself and fellow photographer and friend Mark Williams headed out early (5:30 am!) to photograph the….. sharp-tailed grouse perform the lek dance (will post those photos shortly) and on the way home we found a very large female great horned owl.

Leica M9 does wildlife too…..

Photographed a wild saw-whet owl today ( a tiny owl) with the Leica M9 and the 90mm f/2 Summicron lens, shot wide open as the light was fading fast.

Leica M9 Summarit-M f/2.5 Lens Bokeh Test

Shot wide open, I think it passed, not only in the bokeh department but the sharpness wide open at f/2.5 is amazing :)
